The Pleasant Grove Spartans defeated Boaz 49-7 in the second round of the playoffs last Friday on the road.

The Spartans enter the game with a 10-1 record.... They were 6-0 on their home turf and 4-1 on the road.

The Spartans' offense is averaging 42.0 points a game.... The Spartans' defense is only allowing 14.0 points a game.

Pleasant Grove is on a eight game winning streak since losing to Ramsay in week four of the season by a score of 49-17 on the road. During the winning streak the Spartans have outscored their opponents by an average of 44.5-8.8.

They qualified for the playoffs by finishing 2nd in Class 5A Region 5. The Spartans were 6-1 in region play.

The Spartans have made 28 playoff appearances with an overall record of 34-27.... They are 3-1 on the road in the quarterfinals. 		The Guntersville Wildcats defeated John Carroll 20-17 in the second round of the playoffs last Friday on the road.

They have reached the playoffs 11 consecutive seasons since 2011.

The Spartans will travel to Guntersville this week for a Quarterfinals game at Chorba-Lee Stadium. They are 3-1 in previous years in the Quarterfinals on the road. 		The Guntersville Wildcats have qualified for the playoffs a total of 35 times since 1966. They won the only playoff state championship in the history of the school in 2006.

They have reached the playoffs 10 consecutive seasons since 2012.
